Responsible for serving as expert and consultant to HR Partners and leadership across HD Supply to optimize effectiveness of business initiatives and talent strategies in order to cultivate a high performing organization. Develop strategies and lead projects and processes in the areas of performance management, succession, talent assessment, talent review, organizational design, associate engagement, and development and retention.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Designs, develops and implements enterprise-wide talent management processes such as performance management, succession planning, and talent review. Responsibilities include project planning, gaining stakeholder support, process redesign, communications, training and execution of the process.
Works through the field HR team to deploy solutions and troubleshoot issues.
Works with talent management system administrator to ensure alignment of the technology to the business processes.
Leads ad hoc projects as needed in areas such as competency modeling, career pathing, leadership development, organizational design and development.
Serves as expert consultant to members and leaders of the HR community through coaching and teaching of concepts in areas such as talent, leadership development, change management, facilitation, metrics and engagement.
Identifies and tracks key metrics to determine overall effectiveness of talent management initiatives and to guide business decisions.
Creates reports, action planning tools, and training materials for use by field HR associates to drive improved engagement.
May lead the design and implementation of the associate engagement survey.

Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
